hey, I've been thinking -- not only has it been pretty quiet around here, but we seem to have lost a little of that community feel we had at one point (maybe that's just because of the relative inactivity :p). I'd love it if p_braden_update could just be a place for fans of the Breakfast on Pluto book/movie to get together and share fan-chatter, thoughts, info on where the actors are today -- if you're afraid it might be OT, it probably isn't. see the community interests on the info page? pretty much anything related to any of those is cool ;) (for example, I've been meaning to put up a squee of some sort about Stephen Rea in V For Vendetta, but as you can see I haven't quite managed that)

-if this post kinda doesn't make a whole lot of sense, please forgive me -- it's that wonderful time of the year, where sleep and sanity must bow out for the moment while finals and running-around-like-a-chicken-with-my-head-cut-off take priority.-

anyway, here's an idea!
it's been a little over 6 months since the movie opened in New York; a month and a day since we hit DVD status. you know what would be awesome? why don't we share the stories of our first times watching BoP. or, if you haven't seen the movie yet (oh my! get in touch with me, sweetheart, and we'll see what we can do to fix that), then what's the first thing you can remember really making you a fan? whatever story you've got, comment on this entry and share it! or you can make a new post, if you want; that's totally cool too :)

go for it!

(p.s. this should probably all have been better worded, but, again, finals. o_o)

Oh my god, I am an insomniacal Cillianfan freak. I couldn't wait to tell you all about the deleted scenes on the UK version of the BoP DVD. It is four in the morning... and I only had the sense to give up on finishing all the screencaps in the last hour! omg. I also made a slightly different post over at cillianONLINE.

DVD extra spoilers, including transcribed dialogue & a few caps...Collapse )

Thoughts on the Breakfast on Pluto DVD and commentary, and a nod to this post on the DVD from cillian_daily.Cut for spoilers.Collapse )

edit: I just went to http://www.pathe.co.uk/ and they've got a movie poster for The Wind that Shakes the Barley

Hiya!
I've been here for a while but this is my first post. I was really bored today, and I dont think anyone has posted the lyrics to BoP by Don Partridge

Lyrics might be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

I finally saw Breakfast On Pluto last night! It never made it to the theaters here. I never even found it playing anywhere when I was in England! But, I got it from Netflix yesterday.

I. Love. It!! A lot more than I thought I would actually.

So, yeah :D

So my (completely un-BoP affiliated) friend posted a link to a CNN article on her LJ, and I had to share:

Every day, at the end of almost every hour, XM's '60s channel plays the top six hits of a corresponding week from that decade. As an aficionado of the Billboard charts -- I've got a bunch of the Billboard Top 40 and No. 1 books at home -- I knew what was going to be No. 1 when the countdown got to mid-April 1968: "Honey," by Bobby Goldsboro.

The Worst Song of All Time.

The rest of the article is here.

*le sigh* Clearly not written by a Phantom Lady...

Today is the day! Breakfast on Pluto on DVD! You can ORDER IT on Amazon if you haven't already.

And while you're at it, be sure to "order" a replacement cover!

Here's my sample:
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
(the image is very large, because I've set the resolution to 150 DPI, but it should print out at standard DVD cover size)
but guess what? It's customizeable! I've set up my cover with two of my favorite publicity stills (screencaps from the .mpg would be too messy, except maybe for the bottom image), and included a little "The phantom ladies present" line at the top of the front cover. All you have to do is leave me a comment with
Back Main Image: (the great big picture)
Back Inset Image: (the smaller picture)
Front Cover Line: ("The phantom ladies present", "The Church of St. Kitten presents", some other line of your choosing, or nothing at all if you'd prefer)

and that's all! I'll have your cover done right quick! (Depending on how many "orders" I get it might take a day or two to get through them all, just so you're aware.)

So... ORDER UP!
